Whether you are monitoring cooling efficiency in a crowded data centre or ensuring your custom HVAC system operates at full capacity, tracking air velocity can be critical. Luckily, the SparkFun Air Velocity Sensor Breakout takes the complexity out of measuring airflow! Powered by the Renesas FS3000-1005 module, this board allows you to accurately determine the speed and consistency of the air moving through your environment.
To make getting your readings as easy as possible, all communication is provided exclusively via I2C. We've routed this through our handy Qwiic Connect System, so no soldering is required to connect it to the rest of your system. However, we have still broken out 0.1”-spaced pins in case you prefer to use a standard breadboard.

This sensor is engineered to withstand active airflow without degrading over time. We specifically designed this breakout with a few key advantages to ensure long-term reliability and ease of use:
To make the software side just as effortless, we have created a dedicated Arduino library for the sensor. Simply search for "SparkFun Air Velocity" in the library manager, upload the example code, and you will be reading 12-bit digital airflow data over I2C in a matter of minutes!
