We don't say this lightly: this might be the best solder on the market! There, we said it. This "Special Blend" wasn't just picked from a catalogue; it is the result of a quest to find the perfect alloy for our own production lines here at SparkFun. After testing numerous options, this formulation outperformed them all and is now the only option we want to use.

This spool is perfect for fine-pitch work and general prototyping.

• Thin Diameter: At 0.020" (0.5mm), this wire is thin enough for delicate surface-mount (SMD) soldering but still substantial enough for through-hole components.
• The Mix: 96.35% Sn (Tin), 3.0% Ag (Silver), 0.5% Cu (Copper), 0.15% Sb (Antimony).

Lead-Free & User Friendly

The best part of this solder is that it delivers premium performance without lead. It features a water-soluble flux core, so the residue can be easily cleaned with warm water. No harsh chemicals required!
