The Zumo platform provides a compact, tracked chassis that fits comfortably on a 10 cm × 10 cm footprint, making it ideal for mini‑sumo contests, line‑following challenges and other small‑scale autonomous projects. A dedicated shield mounts directly onto the chassis, routing power from the battery to the motors and exposing motor drivers, a push‑button, buzzer and a 3‑axis inertial sensor suite. Separate sensor arrays add infrared reflectance inputs for edge detection, while the design accepts a range of Arduino boards for straightforward programming. The modular construction allows the robot to be assembled with or without motors, and accessories such as additional sensors or blades attach without rewiring, delivering reliable performance and easy integration for a variety of embedded applications.
