The Raspberry Pi Radio Module 2 (RMC20452T) is a compact, certified wireless module built for integration into custom PCBs and microcontroller products. It packages the Infineon CYW43439 combo chipset and delivers single-band 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) plus Bluetooth 5.2 (Classic + LE) in a SISO architecture, with integrated internal PA, LNA, and a shared 2.4 GHz antenna. A radio module like this enables wireless communications with minimal external components, reduces RF design complexity, and helps OEMs bypass costly radio/regulatory certification thanks to its full modular certification.
The module provides data rates up to ~96 Mbps PHY over 20 MHz Wi-Fi channels, supports Bluetooth range classes (up to ~100 m for Class 1, ~10 m for Class 2), and includes power-saving modes (Power Save PM1 with DTIM1 averaging ~1.19 mA). Active current draw is ~43 mA in receive at –50 dBm and ~271 mA in transmit at 16 dBm. Its host interface is low-pin-count gSPI; three host-controlled GPIOs provide additional I/O flexibility. The RM2 is specified to operate across a temperature range of –30°C to +70°C.
Mechanically, the Radio Module 2 is housed in a 21-pad castellated pad package, measuring 16.5 mm × 14.5 mm, with a profile height of ~2.55 mm. It has full software compatibility with the Raspberry Pi Pico SDK. Its production lifetime is guaranteed through at least January 2036.
