This tiny guy is the ALS-PT19, an SMD ambient light sensor much smaller than the standard TEMT6000. The ALS-PT19 operates on a 2.5V to 5.5V supply and also functions as an NPN transistor. Because of its high infrared rejection ratio, the ambient light sensor's spectral response closely matches that of the human eye.
