SparkFun TFT LCD Breakout - 1.8" (128x160)

Adding visual interfaces to a project shouldn't consume all of your microcontroller's memory or pins. The SparkFun TFT LCD Breakout provides a vibrant, highly adaptable 1.8-inch display designed to make adding graphics and user interfaces incredibly straightforward. With a resolution of 128x160 RGB pixels and up to an 18-bit configurable colour depth, this screen provides a bright, crisp canvas for your custom electronics!

Built-in Storage and Control

To make sure your microcontroller doesn't get bogged down while storing heavy graphics, this board includes integrated, expandable storage.

• Shared SPI Bus: The display operates over a standard 4-wire SPI interface and includes an onboard microSD card slot. By sharing the same SPI bus, you keep your required pin count low while adding massive storage capacity for your multimedia files and images.
• HyperDisplay Supported: We have tailored our SparkFun HyperDisplay library to include a dedicated driver for this board. This makes it as simple as possible to draw shapes, text, and graphics.
• Flexible Power: The TFT LCD Breakout comfortably handles both 5V and 3.3V logic to pair with your favourite microcontroller.

Since loading images can be memory-intensive we highly recommend pairing this display with a controller that has ample RAM, like the SparkFun Thing Plus.

A Customisable Footprint

Out of the box, the display comes mounted to a large backing PCB with secure mounting holes for standard installations. If your project has tight space constraints, the board features a unique v-scored design. You can simply remove the display module, snap off the lower half of the backing board, and re-insert the screen, leaving you with a minimal frame that integrates seamlessly into custom enclosures.

With vibrant colour depth, adjustable PWM backlighting, and built-in expandable storage, this breakout provides a complete visual hardware solution. Grab a microSD card and your favourite microcontroller, and you will have a colourful interface up and running in no time!
