The Benewake TF-NOVA LiDAR Distance Sensor is a compact, solid-state LiDAR sensor designed for obstacle detection, presence detection, and area ranging applications. Unlike conventional point-ranging LiDAR sensors, the TF-NOVA projects a 14° × 1° laser line, allowing it to detect objects across a wider horizontal area without mechanical scanning or multiple sensors. It provides a 0.1 to 14m measurement range with up to 900Hz measurement rates, making it well suited for robotics, autonomous platforms, industrial automation, and other applications where compact area detection is required.
The TF-NOVA uses a 905nm VCSEL laser and provides 1cm distance resolution with ±5cm accuracy from 0.1 to 4m. Its line-shaped detection area can cover approximately 25cm of horizontal width at a distance of 1m, providing significantly more coverage than a conventional point sensor. The sensor can detect low-reflectivity targets in bright outdoor conditions, with a specified range of up to 4m at 10% reflectivity under 100klux illumination. With dimensions of just 26.5 × 21.05 × 12mm and a weight of less than 5g, the TF-NOVA can be integrated into space-constrained systems.
