While most microcontrollers only simulate an analogue voltage using Pulse Width Modulation, this breakout board allows you to generate a true analogue signal. The SparkFun MCP4725 Digital-to-Analogue Converter (DAC) Breakout provides accurate, 12-bit analogue voltage output via I2C and features onboard EEPROM to store settings even after power loss. This makes it a great choice for a wide variety of electronics projects where standard digital signals can't quite give you what you need.
This version of the MCP4725 Breakout updates the board's overall footprint to make the mounting holes much easier to use. As a result, a few parts have shifted on the board, but the overall functionality remains the same.
Whether you are building a custom synthesizer or replacing a PWM signal with a smooth sine wave, this breakout board gives your microcontroller a source of true analogue voltage controlled via a simple I2C interface.
