While most microcontrollers simulate an analogue voltage using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to create a digital square wave, many projects require a smoother signal. The SparkFun MCP4725 Qwiic 12 Bit DAC Breakout allows you to get precise voltage outputs from a microcontroller over a Qwiic connection.
This Digital-to-Analogue Converter is an excellent choice for applications where PWM simply falls short, offering the precision needed for demanding electronics projects.

This DAC breakout board uses the Qwiic Connect System, featuring a pair of Qwiic connectors for instant, solderless I2C communication and power delivery. For those of you integrating the board into custom layouts or breadboards, standard 0.1-inch-spaced plated-through-hole (PTH) pins are also broken out for VCC, GND, SDA, SCL, and the MCP4725's Signal OUT pin.
By combining true analogue generation with non-volatile memory and straightforward I2C integration, this breakout ensures your microcontroller can handle analogue tasks efficiently and consistently.
