OctoWS2811 Adapter for Teensy 3.x & 4.x

This adaptor board is the key to creating massive, professional-grade LED displays with your Teensy. It connects any Teensy from version 3.2 to 4.1 to thousands of WS2811, WS2812, or NeoPixel-compatible LEDs, allowing you to drive up to eight strips in parallel with the high-speed OctoWS2811 Library.

Built for High-Speed Signal Integrity

This adaptor is an active signal buffer designed to send clean, powerful signals over long distances. It features a 74HCT245 buffer chip to boost the Teensy's 3.3V logic signals to the 5V level required by most LED strips, ensuring compatibility and reliability.

Onboard 100Ω impedance-matching resistors are paired with the board's dual RJ-45 Ethernet jacks. This system is designed to use standard CAT6 Ethernet cable, which provides 100Ω impedance, minimal cross-talk, and high bandwidth. The result is a robust, high-quality signal perfect for large-scale installations. The RJ-45 jacks also provide the convenience of easily connecting and disconnecting your LED arrays from the main controller.

Broad Teensy Compatibility

The adaptor is designed to fit the entire modern Teensy line, from the compact 3.2 to the expanded 4.1.

• For Teensy 3.2 & 4.0: These compact boards mount directly on top of the adaptor using standard stacking headers or a header/socket pair.
• For Teensy 3.5, 3.6, & 4.1: The larger Teensy boards are also compatible. By using double-insulator pins and sockets, you can raise the Teensy high enough to clear the RJ-45 connectors, allowing the longer board to overhang without interference.
