Pin headers, sockets and shorting blocks make the electrical and mechanical links between PCBs, modules, sensors and development boards used in robotics, sensing, automation and embedded systems. They enable removable connections, mounting of plug-in modules and selectable links for configuration without permanent solder joints.
Options vary by pitch, row count, pin number and orientation. Standard pitches provide wide compatibility while right-angle, through-hole and surface-mount options suit different layouts. Removable jumpers and module sockets allow reconfiguration. Contact reliability, retention force, ease of soldering or insertion and mechanical clearance are the practical attributes that govern long‑term performance and assembly speed.
