The SparkFun Inventor's Kit is the best Arduino beginners kit available. It has a whole range of real electronics components that you will learn to use by following the included step by step instructions. Then you can do your own thing creating projects that use LCD screen, LED lights, motors, relays and various sensors. Ideal as a gift for ages 10 and up and for education.
