This is the standard DC motor found in the GM2, GM3, GM8, and GM9 gear motors from Solarbotics. It comes with an 8-tooth pinion gear, and motor replacement is a snap! The RM3 can even be used to replace the higher-current Mabuchi FA-130 motors in many of the Tamiya gearboxes. This is the standard DC motor found in the GM2, GM3, GM8, and GM9 gear motors from Solarbotics. It nominally runs at 6 V and consumes roughly 35 mA free running, and roughly 800 mA at stall. If you’ve worn out the motor in the GM2/3/8/9, replacing the gear motor is easy — just remove the motor retainer strap, press the included pinion gear onto the new motor shaft, and reinstall — that’s it!
