LEDs

LEDs supply light for indicators, status signalling, backlighting and decorative effects in robotics and embedded projects. They range from small through‑hole lamps in 3mm, 5mm and larger packages to RGB devices that mix colours to produce many hues. Through‑hole RGB LEDs with a common anode or common cathode are common for straightforward drive, while diffused lenses soften the light and widen the viewing angle. Addressable RGB LEDs and circular LED rings let many pixels be controlled from a single digital line, enabling patterns and dynamic effects without extra hardware.

Single-colour and RGB options cover both simple indicators and richer lighting schemes. Packs and arrays scale builds, and form factors span compact diodes to rings and multi‑diode clusters. Differentiators include lens type, viewing angle, lead spacing and compatibility with microcontroller drive levels, plus the availability of standalone drivers or data‑driven control.
